In 1923 she ran aground in Welcome Pass and destroyed her stem and crumpled her shell plating. On December 20th, 1925 this passenger/freight vessel owned by Union Steamships Ltd., Vancouver BC sank in 50 fathoms of water after a collision in dense fog with the Lady Cynthia at Roberts Creek. No lives were lost, 14 passengers and the crew of 21 on the Cowichan were quickly transferred to the Lady Cynthia.
