Vessel Description

She was assembled on ways at Stanley Park, Vancouver BC. She was employed as a collier from Nanaimo towing booms and hauling stone for the construction of the Provincial Legislature building. Capilano was the first British ship to the Klondike. Speed 9 knots, 25 deck passengers. Capilano left for the Klondike with 69 head of cattle and 20 horses sent up by Mssr Rattenbury and company. In 1915 she sank off Savary Island, BC.
